Voltage Help

I'm overclocking my Ryzen 1600, and I reset the bios to optimized default. What is a safe voltage for Overclocking to about 3.8. I'm water cooled with a 240 rad, on a B350 tomahawk board

Anything up to 1.35 is considered "safe" according to AMD, and should be more than enough to his 3.8. As long as you have proper cooling going up to 1.4 is fine, and 1.45 at the absolute max.

And just FYI I have built 4 Ryzen builds (Two for me and wife and two for others) With a 1700x, a 1200, a 1600 and 1700. So ya

When I was at 3.6GHz and auto voltage, it was set at 1.44, is that just msi being insane or my cpu being bad?

anything below 1.425v is safe on the cpu, just keep trying different clock speeds with different voltages going up in increments, im running 3.9ghz at 1.40v on my r5 1400

what i usually do to see what the limits are of my CPU is i try for the max overclock at max voltage then slowly lower voltage and clocks until i have a stable system
try shooting for 4ghz at 1.425v and drop it down from there

No, and thats not constant voltage, it spikes based on CPU usage any where from the 1.2's to the 1.4's unless you manually set it.

do manual voltage or offset mode if your board only supports offset

my board only does offset and i run a 0.15125v offset(weird just cause of how my board does incremental steps) which gives me a 1.4v vcore ryzen stock voltage is 1.25v so set your offset according to that number

I'm going slowly, I'm testing 3.7 at 1.275 and I'll go up from there, thanks for the help.
