Backstory:

Recently, my old workhorse of a laptop died on me and I've been searching for a fitting replacement ever since. The problem is that even though there are plenty of options on the market, I am struggling with finding a laptop that has the specs that I want, and has a "professional" look to it. I was thinking of buying the Lenovo yoga 720 13". I was satisfied with the specs, but the screen size made me reconsider.

Can any of you recommend a 1000$ and lower prices laptop that would be great for work, music production and casual gaming. The part that is the most important for me is the production part because I have to be able to produce and mix tracks on the go, so processor power and RAM it's quite important. As for storage, i think an SSD is just what I need.

Hopefully y'all can help ?

Thanks in advance!

I've considered getting it, but it is quite above my budget

Maybe wait for Kaby Lake G laptops or, go for Ultrabook with 8250U/8550U and MX150 (find laptops with these specs and let me know, I'll choose for you)

Thanks alot for the advice! I look into it and found 3 perfect replacements:

Asus VivoBook S510UN-BQ084T

Acer Swift 3 NX.GSJED.003

Acer Aspire 5 SF315 NX.GT0ED.002

As of right now, I'm leaning the most towards the Acer Swift 3 because of the looks and the price. The only thing concerning me is the reviews of it's display. Many say that it's lacking in brightness and color. Any experience?

On the other hand I'm not excluding the other two, even though the Asus is somewhat pricier then the other ones, which is making me reconsider.

Do you have any opinion or advice on this topic?

Thanks in advance!

(In my casw it is not worth waiting for the new laptops to be released because even though they'll be better, it will take many months before they are available in Norway. If I choose to buy them elsewhere I'll be forced to pay a 25% fee which makes it alot more expensive.)

Out of these 3, Swift 3 is the best overall.
