GPU Clock High?

Hello. Yesterday i got my new 144Hz Monitor "Acer Predator XB270H"  (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wzKhP6/acer-monitor-umhb0aaa01) 

And since i use this Monitor my GPU Base clock is at 1671MHz on idle! When i used my old Monitor "Benq GL2460" my base clock was at 650MHz minimum.

Used high performance mode inside Nvidia Control Panel?

No. It's set to optimal power. 

 

What i did now i changed the Hz from 144 to 120Hz and it dropped from 1671 to 600MHz.. 

That's actually really annoing

I use nvida inspector for this. Seems to be a big with NVidia that I never had until this past year. Even my old cards do it with a 120h monitor.

Okay i solved my problem. I downloaded "Nvidia Inspector" and enabled "Multi Display Power Saver".

 

Idle clock of my GTX 1080 is now at 608MHz. <3 Hope i can help other people with the same problem!

This really helped! And after i restarted my PC it went down to 203MHz! :o :x

Its annoying setting up programs for it and waiting for the usage to activate them like normal but I tend not to have issues on my main rig.

Well ive been using my triple 1080p setup for years now. Had my original titans running them for years aswell. Stock air cooling, they would run like normal when idling, 33-35c or so. Then I water cooled everything. Went back to air for a test, noticed the cards idled at 60c. Only reason I noticed was because of how my fan profile was set. Max speed at 65c, which is how they have been running since I owned the cards. Never have they ran that hot at idle. It was caused by the memory running at max speed. Which your card should be doing. My core would be low but memory would be maxed. Think my 1080 runs at 1750/5000 at idle. So sometime over a year ago, something changed.

Do you think OC my GPU was successful with this stats? 
Playing GTA 5 or other games gives the same result.

Okay! This is really weird! I overclocked my 144Hz monitor to 145Hz and my idle clock is perfect!

 

Can someone with the same problem test this and tell me if this fixed the issue? Maybe you @Mick Naughty ?

As far as 1080’s go, that oc is a little low. Especially considering that card reputation. It’s successful if it doesn’t crash but you should be able to push it much higher.
