Hi,

so I am in need of an upgrade for my studio PC. I came up with this, what do you guys think of it? I am not that experienced so any help or optimizations are appreciated.

The main purpose will be audio recording/editing etc. All I need is a lot of CPU power to handle that load. I did not include storage or a gfx card as I will be using the same from my old PC.

Get a Corsair H100i v2 instead of the Kraken X62.

I would hold off on the 750W PSU, you're not going to be drawing anywhere near that much power. Probably go for a 550-650W.

Other than that, all looks good.

Thanks for the suggestions! Do you have any particular PSU recommendation? I am quite lost when it comes to them tbh.

The Corsair CX550M is quite good.

Here's a cheat sheet. Pick a tier 1-2 unit. The RMx is among the quietest PSUs.

:)

Thank you!

Consider getting the i7-8700 with a cooler like the Noctua NH-12S or Cryorig H7. Performance very close to a stock i7-8700K but runs much cooler and therefore quieter.

PSU requirement depends a great deal on the gpu being used. Corsair CX450M (2015)SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 550 Gold, or SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 650 Gold are quiet and very good quality.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
