Why is rust so stuttery?

I just got rust and it is a beautiful game. It is also a load of fun however i do not understan why its so stuttery. I get around 60fps on max settings but it freezes every 5-10 seconds and is unplayable. This only seems to happen on some servers and on the ones where it plays smooth, it isnt smooth when i load in. Any tips to make it smoother? I already put in launch commands.

I have no issues with Rust freezing like this.

Whats your basic spec, CPU, RAM and GPU please? 

Does this happen across several servers?

You could be running out of GPU vram, if you do it will use normal ram which is much slower and can cause issues.

 

You have 8GB or higher normal system RAM installed?

But I mean, its an old game. Why is it so bad? Also it should be playable at least. I was fine for a while but then steam told me some shit and made me reinstall the game and now its back to shit

its early access. which means they have an excuse to not optimize it.  its always run like shit. old doesnt mean easy to run. performance varies greatly on a weekly basis
