Need help with an audio issue.

I have a rather nice ROG Asus Hero VI motherboard and I will be totally honest with you. I love everything about it, apart from one thing. The sound card. Because of one thing, it will not record "what I hear" You know we used to have this option to record our input. However now no matter what audio software I use, this option seems to be missing. So I cannot record the sound I hear at the time.

 

Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know of a fix, I am using Windows 10 BTW.

 

Also what would be better, my onboard sound card or the one I have sitting in a box not being used atm. My Asus Xonar DSX 7.1 PICE soundcard?
