Task Manager Issue - Help

Having a bit of an issue with my PC..

 

Specs are:

 

Ryzen 1600

RX 580 8GB

Gskill 16GB Trident Z ram

Samsung 256gb SSD

1TB WD Blue HDD

EVGA 650w PSU

Window 10 PRO 64bit

 

I am having an issue that my Task manager will not stay open...   When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL  and choose task manager it opens but within seconds it closes itself..  Then I see it minimized into the bottom right system tray by the clock then it just completely closes before I can do anything.  I have tried Malware bytes scan, windows virus scan and nothing is coming up with any sort of virus etc...  I have also tried to run task manger from CMD and run it as ADMIN with no avail...

 

Should I just preform a system reset / reinstall windows or is there a better solution? 

 

On top of this my PC sometimes will not RESTART properly it will get to saying restarting PC but will just idle there until I physically shut off the computer with the power button...

 

Any help or suggestions much appreciated!

Open Powershell as an administrator and enter the following command:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

Then use this command to delete TileDataLayer:

Remove-Item –path $env:USERPROFILE\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer -Force

What are these commands doing? Just currious I just did them and now will restart PC to see if this solved anything.

AppXPackage is basically rebuilding native app packages for all users. Remove-Item is forcing Windows to delete and rebuild the tile layer database for your start menu, task manager, and other native Windows applications.

Well tried both those commands and task manager is still acting up, shutting down/restarting seemed to be a smoother process tho.

Could you try booting into safe mode and see if the problem is still occurring? If you're not sure how to, hold shift while pressing the restart button in your start menu, hit troubleshoot, advanced options, startup settings, restart. Press F4 when prompted once the blue "Startup Settings" menu appears.

Alright booted to safe mode and task manager worked no problem... I wonder if its software/app that is interfering ??  

 

Any ideas?

Task Manager has been known to be easily tampered with by unwanted malware or spyware. Commonly, Regedit and MSConfig are also tampered with. Could you let me know if you can run msconfig or regedit from the Run dialog?

Both Seem to open fine from the Run Dialog..

Sorry for the late reply. None of the tasks running seems to be malicious. I'm going to need a more detailed log.

 

Please grab HijackThis 2.0.5 from Bleeping Computer and select "Do a system scan and save logfile." Afterwards, either upload the .txt file that the application generates as an attachment or copy and paste it into another spoiler. If the application tells you it cannot access host files, just press ok.
