Decided to get into the custom cable game, seems like something I could really get into.

Right now I'm looking at picking up a universal pin puller, a few meters each of gold, purple, silver/grey and black sleeving.

Looking for a good brand for the sleeving, don't really want plain amazon paracord (though maybe that stuffs the bomb, I dunno)

Anything else I need to get started?  I have 2 full sets of cables for the psu, one oem and the other an individually sleeved kit, I plan on leaving the all black corsair sleeved ones alone and resleeving the stock set.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

You may need to make some wires or do double wire splices depending on the PSU you have if they have sense lines in the 24 pin. For the sleeving method you will require a lighter or heat gun to melt the sleeve into place for it to hold.

Planning on doing a straight resleeve on the "blank" plain rubber cables. Why woukd afdition cabling be needed?

Sometimes you get stuff like this where there are two wires entering a single terminal, most of them are sense wires for monitoring but must be in place for the PSU to function.

@W-L gotcha, thanks for the heads up.  I'm good to go on having a heat source, any other usefull tools to recomend?

Get a good pair of gloves  when stretch sleeving your fingers will get sore very quickly. I use some spring clamps to hold things in places when heatshrinking or melting my sleeve and while not necessary I add a drop of CA glue to ensure the sleeving doesn't move.

I have more detailed info here under sleeving if you want an instructional guide.

You have to pick what kind of sleeving you want Paracord or PET. Most paracord is the same as long as it's 100% nylon. Most craft stores will sell paracord very cheaply. Paracord is also a giant PIA to work with and you will also need a threader. You need to be careful not to snag the sleeving and risk tearing the outside. You can't just feed the wire with the terminal at the end through the paracord. The terminal will catch on the sleeving and will get stuck(PET sleeving does not have this problem).

PET is allot better and allot easier to work with, No threader is needed and can feed the wire straight through. MDPC-X is the best when it comes to sleeving.

You will also need heatshrink even if your planning on doing heathsrinkless style cables, Lighters, PSU tester and multimeter doesn't hurt to have as well.

Most important know your pin layout for your PSU.
