Hey guys, is a xeon processor okay for video editing?

Im planning to get it instead of the i7 2600 and i7 3770

The Xeon E5 2620 v2 and the E6 2640 (6 cores/12 threads) go for $70 in my country..

PS: The i7s and the Xeons go for around the same price, but which will perform better?

Thanks!

they work just fine for video editing, but x79 boards will generally cost more. look for an 8-core xeon with a decent clock speed, shouldn't cost alot more.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Probably just stick to the i7 3770 or save up money for Ryzen + next year.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
