1080p 144hz or 1440p 75hz

trevrez

I hate to make a post like this as maybe the answer should be obvious but even after reading/watching what I can I can;t decide.

My current set up Ryzen 1500X/GTX 1070/16GB RAM.  I play mostly FPS and used to playing on a 32" samsung, 1080p @ 60hz.  Currently playing COD WW2.

Is it worth entertaining the idea moving to a 1440p display?  The one Asus one I'm looking at is 75hz.  The 1080 for around the same price is 144hz.

144hz is better for me but it depends on your choice. You GPU will handle both easily

I'd prefer 1080p 144hz... However, there will be loads of people that will say 1440p, It's personal choice really

Thanks guys.  That's the tricky thing about deciding on something like this is I haven't experienced 1440p game play or high refresh rates, making it difficult to decide.

I do know that I won't be upgrading the 1070, that will likely be my card for the next couple of years.
