So, I’m building a surround sound system for a junior high school wood shop and I need to run a vga cable as well as a couple rca cables from my “control speaker”,( please excuse my incorrect terminology, I’m inexperienced) to my subwoofer that have to be anywhere from 35ft to 80ft long.

Ive watched linus’s Video on tech quicky, but I was wondering if it was carrying an audio signal it would make a difference.  Also, I can’t really afford a high quality cable or an optical one on my tight budget.  Thanks!

VGA has no defined limits, in practice it can go hundreds of feet depending on resolution.

You might need a signal booster about half way at least. Vga has a tendency to loose strength when you split it or when it's running really long lengths. I remember running vga cables to multiple ceiling projectors back in the day , we had to use signal boosters to get the picture from being too dark and deluded between the projectors.
