Hey i found some old cameras but they all have sd cards some even got smartmedia/xd cards and some got compactflashcards so i looked on my very old pc because it was a pc from a company that did designing but the pc is very old and the MOBO is cracked but it has a cardreader and i want it to test on my pc mainboard that i am using is a 990fx r2.0 and the connector does not look like a usb 2.0 connectors i have a picture and i want to know where to i connect this to in my MOBO

There is a reason they call that stuff old and outdated.  That's because it IS old and outdated.  But, help is on the way.  Check out the external card readers here;

you can try to plug it in a usb (2) header.

each usb header have  9 pins, the upper has 5 pin and the lower have 4 pins.

i think you can plug it in the lower part. the port should be backward compatible.

 

the problem with legacy devices are driver. most drive made for windows xp and older wont run on modern os. and early card readers are poorly made dont last long.

 

if the card doesnt run, you may want to try running it in legacy os via virtualbox or vmware.

oor, you can buy new card reader for a couple of bucks.
