I do not think they can hack you because of a BIOS update...

There's an exploit going around inside of intel CPU's and you need a BIOS update to patch it. This is what I'm asking.

Then patch it, and make sure you keep BIOS updated either way.

the motherboards bios has very little to do with network security.

I would imagine it could be possible for a remote attack considering it has its own network stack, however I haven't read any papers regarding techniques/attacks one might use against the IME so this was just my speculation.

I wouldn't get super worried about it, bios updates are not recommended unless you absolutely need it.

you do not need to update the bios as a rule only update your bios if things dont work otherwise you can leave it because a bios update can break everything
