For one thing, I've been hearing a ton of reports about pump failures on the X62 as opposed to Corsair's liquid coolers where I've almost never heard of a component failure. Maybe one or two, but pump failure on the X62 is a lot more common.

Getting an i7 8700k, and trying to maintain the turbo frequency. For functionality (not form or sound) would you guys reccomend the Kracken x62 or the Corsair H115i?

Both are rebrand of asetek ... so go for estethic ... or price with the same fan, they will perform the same ... 1-3% difference

As mentioned before, they are both designed by Asetek and performance will likely be within a couple of degrees. However I would recommend the H115i for better RAM compatibility, I've heard the tubes coming off the side of the X62 interfering with RAM on some motherboards.
