Quick Question

I currently am running a gtx 780 and just ordered a gtx 1080. i just realized my current card has a 6 pin and an 8 pin port while the gtx 1080 only has one 8 pin port. do i just plug the 8 pin in and call it a day or do i need an adapter so the 14 pins converge into one, plus i have an 875 watt psu so im pretty sure Im good there.
