1060 can't install drivers

Dwarfenninja

Hey Guys, asking for a friend who recently built a brand new system

Basically when he tries to install nvidia drivers, his system crashes to a black screen.

His specs are:

Asus b350m-k

Ryzen 3 1200

Asus gtx1060 3gb oc

Crucial 8gb ddr4 2400mhz ram

Corsair cx550m PSU

Windows 10 x64

Thanks!

First the basic things:

Did you try to pull the GPU out and inserting it again?

Is it connected to the power?

Same thing with the CPU.

Tried different memory?

Hey Dujith,

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, we have checked all the connections, we don't have spare memory unfortunately :(

This is actually the second GPU we have tried (the first one is being returned because we tested it in my much older ivy bridge system and it just failed to boot, that's getting returned) after scouring the internet for a day or so together we tried everything we could find (with in reason of course)

Do you think it's a dead motherboard? we are planning to test this next 1060 in my system again, because I really doubt it would be another dead card
