You could just google which is which and learn about them .................. https://www.howtogeek.com/193669/whats-the-difference-between-gpt-and-mbr-when-partitioning-a-drive/

it really isn't that hard....

No disk has the size of what's advertised.

...which you could've also learnt by googling: https://petapixel.com/2012/10/10/why-hard-drives-and-memory-cards-have-less-space-than-advertised/

you have to remember some people find it much easier to sign up for a forum with a name and pass code then confirm via email address then type a long question and wait several minutes , vs googling it.

Yes, use GPT. If there's supposed to be a system install on it, you should also install the system in UEFI mode if you're motherboard supports it.

GPT is something that became popular when systems started moving past the old BIOS system to newer, more advanced systems which use an advanced form of BIOS called UEFI. One of the biggest benefits of this was expanding past the 2.2TB limit that MBR had. So if you had a larger drive, let's say 3 or 4 TB, and set it up with MBR, the system would only see it as the 2.2TB limit, and the rest of the space wouldn't be recognized. You'd have to have it as GPT to get the full capacity. Technically where your drive is only a 2TB, you could use either MBR or GPT, but just for the sake of convenience and only having to remember one thing, it's probably easier just to go GPT anyways.

Here is one of our Knowledge Base articles with more info if you'd like to give it a look-over.
