question about 4K monitor off of laptop

tvanreeven

Laptop:

ACER ASPIRE 7 A715-71G-76Z5(link)

I7-7700HQ
GTX 1050 2GB VRAM(HDMI 2.0, USB-C 3.1 1st gen)
16GB RAM
It won't be used for gaming, but for 3D modelling, light rendering, graphic design and multitasking.

If I connect a 4K monitor to my laptop through HDMI 2.0, will it run on the integrated graphics or the dedicated GPU? Also, will it run 60 Hz?

I've read that it will be run by the integrated graphics, and the GPU will only kick in with certain software.

But I actually want the external monitor to be run by dedicated GPU all the time for better performance and to keep the CPU cooler(heard that integrated graphics produces heat). Is this possible or even necessary?

the monitor will run at whatever you set the GPU to in Nvidia control panel.

?????

Do you remember the
21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

both integrated graphics and dedicated graphics produce heat

if you are planning on gaming get a better PC that 1050 won't do good at 4k in any game

Won't be used for gaming, but I need the GPU for GPU acceleration in Illustrator and other software.

Indeed, But I thought if I could keep some heat of the CPU it would thermal throttle less with 3D rendering...

Ok, I wasn't sure this was possible. But then it won't be a problemxD
