So I had recently installed a new GPU into my comp, only for the system to crash immediately while the OS loads.

However, the system has no issue booting the OS when the add-on GPU is removed.

The BSoD reads as the following:

*** Hardware Malfunction

Call your hardware vendor for support

NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

*** The system has halted ***

The system is a Dell Dimension E310 [Dell system DV051]

CPU: 2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4 5th Generation with Hyper-Threading [Prescott] (x86-64)

RAM: Corsair XMS2 (2x 1GB) CM2X1024-6400

BIOS: Phoenix (Dell A04)

Chipset: Intel 915GV Express

Original GPU: Integrated Intel 915GV Express Family Chipset

Expansion slots: 2 PCI slots; 1 PCIe x1

Press F10 while booting, Go to BIOS - Advanced - Bus Options - Disable PCI SERR# Number

?????

Do you remember the
21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away

Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away

Would I mash F10 before the OS starts to load or while it's loading?

I did it before it loads, and nothing happens

Did while loading Ubuntu, and it was ignored

Did it while Windows NT 6.1 loads, and it loaded in the "Edit Boot Options" command line prompt

Hold on...

What if I don't have a sufficient amount of power?

The stock PSU is 230W max

PS if you think it is the PSU wattage unplug the GPU and try booting once more.

It does boot fine without the add-on GPU installed, since the integrated GPU is what I've had been using since I got the system in like 2006.

I'll have to figure out how much the power CPU & GPUs need.

I also ran a few RAM Tests, and everything came back good. It would be weird if I need to have RAM that's ECC capable though.

I tried it with a 650W PSU, nothing has changed.

I'm starting to wonder if the error isn't relating to the system's RAM, but the new GPU's VRAM itself. Probably a slight defect?
