need help getting firefox bookmarks back from a backup

I was having problems with a laptop recently. For some reason it would keep crashing right after logging into windows 10. There was nothing I could do to fix it so I just did a clean reinstall of windows. I had a back up I made of my C drive using windows back up. Unfortunately it seems that firefox doesn't want to restore my bookmarks from earlier. I can't figure out how to fix this problem. I'm not sure how firefox stores the bookmarks, but I didn't have an account and didn't use the firefox backup feature either. All I have is what windows backed up for me. I need to restore those bookmarks, I had over 100 of them and now they are sort of gone. I do have an image of pc saved from earlier and that should have the firefox bookmarks on it, but I was hoping to avoid using it since it had the same problem as before with the constant crashing. Does anyone know how to restore firefox bookmarks using a windows backup?
