sooo i am in no way shape or form an audiophil but i do want to upgrade my desk audio setup and thought maybe the good people here could help me figure it out.

im currently running simple logitech z4s and im very happy with the sound but i dont like the look of them anymore since i now have this huge 34" ultrawide and a huge desk the look kinda dwarfed.

so mainly i was just looking for powered bookshelf speakers that would look nice and professional. had my eyes on the klipsch R-15PM i believe they were called.

then i noticed im probably gonna loose a lot of bass since they are well just bookshelf and rated down to 65hz. but adding the cheapest klipsch sub is like 200 bucks which would take the whole thing to 550 and thats a bit much for my taste.

so does anyone have a good recommendation for a 2.1 setup that keeps it around the 350 mark max and looks and sounds good?

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

JBL LSR305.......you can close the thread now.;) Below's the link to Amazon, 129USD is just for one, so you'd need to double that for a pair.

https://www.amazon.com/JBL-LSR305-Powered-Studio-Monitor/dp/B00DUKP37C

I'd have gotten them as well, but since they weren't available at the time I was shopping for a pair, I'd gotten a pair of KRK Rokit5 Gen3 instead.

:D cocky i ike but sadly theres a couple of thing wrong with them.

1. theyre fugly as hell and have a pasticy look

2. im not running a studio so i have no use what so ever for xlr and have no clue what the balanced part means

but yeah mainly i wouldnt feel like they would increase the look of my desk sorry i know audio quality i way more important and all but come on its like the better the sound the uglier the speaker

i swear it feel like this sadasdasdasdasd.PNG.08c8a5ff15bef493bccc729f6801d8ff.PNG

honestly Logitech sound ok but you can get some nice Polk t15 bookshelf speakers that are a decent upgrade from logitech but that u need a amp and speaker wire etc witch is the best option pair those speakers with like a 10inch Polk audio sub or acoustic audio sub I find this cheap 150$ setup to be very nice for music and movies if you want even better speakers get the r-15pm and get like a 200-300 watt sub somewhere around that if you go for that.

Check out the offerings from Kanto (Yu4, Yumi, Yu6) - they usually have a lot of color options, looks good, sound good, great connectivity and a fair price. Vanatoo T0 are considered some of the best at this price point, maybe not beautiful but worth taking a look at

I personally have the Yumis and they are great on a desk. They have a dedicated "sub-out" on the back so just find yourself a powered sub and a sub cable and you are good to go! I have the Polk PSW10 and it gets the job done. Doesn't get super low but it is front ported so it is a little more flexible with positioning. Also check out the Dayton Sub xxx line - tend to be some of the more highly recommended budget subs. Can also take the time to check out craigs list to see if anyone is looking to get rid of their higher end subs at a good price

Yeah the Yumi were like the Yu6 little brother, think the discontinued it a few months ago but I still see some on Amazon from time to time. Here is a link to the Dayton subwoofer - they have 8, 10, 12 inch variations but idk what you really need for your space. Also not sure what is available outside of the US

i mean looks really dont matter compared to quality if people see shitty looking speakers its ok but if they sounds really nice who cares but if u want nice looking speakers mod them your self puts some leds and stuff that would look cool but quality over looks man.
