Hey there my name is Michael and I am new to the forum but I have a fairly specific issue that I cannot seem to find an answer to even with using the search function.

I picked up a used 980ti and since installation in my rig, every time that I stream it picks up bad static sound through my streaming software and pushes it out through my stream. You can see my most recent stream at www.twitch.tv/supermegahappyfuntime for reference.

When I put my 1060 6b in the system I do not have this issue.

What I am trying to find out, is how would I go about mitigating this issue? or is the GPU messed up and not grounding itself out properly.

Any thoughts on testing this are appreciated.

Thank you!

Do you have a timestamp or a clip from a stream that you can show instead of pointing us to your channel directly? Your most recent stream is 2 and a half hours long and I don't think any of us would have the time to try to help if we have to find this ourselves.

For what it's worth, if you're using nvenc, it could be the video encoding engine on the 980ti is broken, or that you need to tweak your streaming settings to match the older card.

Edit: Since you mentioned the GPU I assumed it was video static. If it's audio static it could be poor electrical isolation of components on the 980ti like the inductors and chokes (generically referred to as coil whine, but can be caused by non-coil inductors). This really shouldn't affect video/audio quality though; if it does I'd expect poor grounding of your motherboard instead of your gpu, assuming you're using onboard audio.

Tabs,

Please do not judge my laughing, I was just having such a good time trolling around but please see the attached video.

So I have went back and tried my 1060 again and I was incorrect, I went ahead and I unplugged the camera from one USB port and moved it to another and it works fine. To test my theory I restarted my computer, and I then had static again. I then went ahead and unplugged the camera and plugged it back into the same port and voila it was fine again. SOOOO I think my issue is port based, I then tried the camera in one of my other computers to confirm, and it seems that the camera has no issues whatsoever.

SOOO my usb ports are getting voltage to them from the board it seems, or am I mistaken?
