Display Port Issues

I own two monitors a PC that I plug into one monitor with display port and the other with HDMI. But I also own consoles and when I switch to HDMI on the TV with Display Port my PC doesn't auto adjust  and make the HDMI monitor the main one like it does with an HDMI and DVI set up and DVI isn't an option for me anymore.
