Removing Conduit Adware

Go to solution Solved by _ASSASSIN_,

use ADW Cleaner, works everytime

and start using "custom install" when ever you download bundlers that have adware, and read what you are installing before you hit accept for the future.

Hey guys, I have some questions regarding removing adware - specifically the Conduit search client that is installed when using the uTorrent upgrade function, and I assume by many other means.

I want to know if there's any more I can do to ensure I have removed ever trace of this.

What I've done:

  • Uninstalled the application it installs via control panel (I usually use Revo Uninstaller as it looks for any traces of the program such as folders or registry entries - I didn't show up in the revo list though)
  • Cleared Chrome settings
  • Performed a full scan and clean with Malwarebytes

Anything I'm missing?

Thanks for the help guys.

I actually was using that site, but was a bit weary of using that tool. Half the websites covering the topic were simply prompting to download some software that looked to be nothing more than the Conduit Adware they were claiming to be removing. As for ADW, is it just a registry cleaner?

I did use custom install, and even said no. For some reason, when using the update option within uTorrent, it installs this Adware either way. I am going to be switching Bittorrent clients.

lol, and yes the ADWCleaner is a registry cleaner, Conduit will break on you on everystart up, so if you don't want that screen prompt that has the most obnoxious windows sound, do it

i don't seem to get anything popping up, and I believe MB cleaned a few registry entries, but I'll run this anyway. Thank you.

EDIT: Ran ADWCleaner and it detected a few Conduit Registry entries that were missed by MWB,

Also, if I already have CCleaner, should I just replace it with ADW?
