I don't think it would work. Or if it did it wouldn't benefit performance.

It would technically be possible to just have it inside the PC. And some DX12 titles have support for multiple GPUs, no matter what brand. 

Currently, those games are Ashes of the Singularity. So if you're really hardcore into just that, it'll be useful. 

For everything else, it's useless

It could be used for compute performance, such as rendering acceleration
