RX 580 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB for 1080P 60hz/144hz

I will be getting 2 1080p monitors

one of them is TN 24 inch 144hz while the other is IPS 27 inch 75hz

Both have freesync on them

Should I get the 1060 6GB or the RX 580 8GB? (At my local microcenter, both are around the same price)

The Monitors in question:

I'd get RX580 due to then being equal but there is more Ram and free sync.

you don't need a X370 for a R5 system fyi just save and get a B350 imo

If you've already decided on Freesync monitors and the RX580 is priced right, then just go with that.

Really? What advantages does an x370 have over a b350?
I figured that since i wanna keep this pc for a while & upgrade it, I might as well get an x370 is what i thought since amd will support am4 for a while unlike intel

Overclocks better, but I really dont think its worth it unless its like an extra 10-15.

Doesn't always OC better, plenty of good b350 boards OC well. You get multi-GPU support as a benefit, SLI/Crossfire. If you don't plan on using SLI or Crossfire (which is a bad idea to begin with), then stick with a well reviewed b350 board and save the money.

X370 is supposed to overclock slightly better but if your getting a strix it isn't worth the extra 80-90 USD unless you lan on upgrading cpu to soemthing like a later 1800X or Future processor before 2019-2020

would an 8GB model that costs around 280/290 USD be priced good?

that's the price at my local microcenter & its the same as some 1060 6GB's

Its a little high for my liking, im thiking something closer to $260 is a better price but $280 out the door wouldn't be too terrible. I wouldn't be comfortable paying that much for one myself, but it is what it is.

I do actually plan on upgrading the processor when the new version comes out along with a new GPU & CPU cooler
