1. Budget & Location

Budget is at max 2500€ but I want to spend less if possible. I am from Finland (EU).

2. Aim

I want to get a gaming PC that could last for a while and won't be loud. I would play mostly at 1080p everything maxed out. I was also thinking of getting HTC Vive so I want it to also be able to run VR games smoothly.

3. Monitors

I do have 1 old 60hz monitor but I was planning on getting another one. 140hz one would be nice.

4. Peripherals

I have OS and keyboard and mouse.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Because my current PC is antique.

So I have some questions. For example what kind of CPU would be the best for VR games and for 1080p max setting games maybe even 2k?

Also can I use 140hz monitor and 60hz monitor at the same time? Will they run on their own frequencies?

1080 to is guaranteed in this build I just don't know which one would be the best and quiet.

1 TB hard drive and 500gb SSD would also be in this build.

I also don't care about any RGB or any other fancy stuff. I just want gaming PC that is quiet and that can last for a while.

for that budget I would at least get an 8000 series i5 or i7. Problem is those are kinda on demand and supply is sparse. If you are lucky you might be able to get these next year but no one really knows. That is why I wold strongly suggest holding off on getting parts just now.

So is the budget too low?

So should I try to get my hands on i7-8700k? Is it the best CPU for what I am asking?
