Good strategy game?

I like building things, love simcity 4 (didn't bother with 5 for obvious reasons) and roller coaster tycoon 3, so anyone got any recommendations for games like that please?

I bought into the Prison Architect alpha and I love it. Such a good game, devs are really active as well, adding features every month I think.

Warhammer 40k Dawn of war 1 Dark Crusade. Really awesome game and a bit old. XCOM enemy unknown is an awesome game, although it is a turn based strategy without any base building. But you should try it though. Highly recommended. Also rise of nation and the supreme commander series are good games.

Cannot recommend XCOM enough, it's so much fun and you can play it to no end, really excited to get the expansion.

 

As far as things like the ones you wanted, maybe CIV V?

I've just bought rome TW 2 and Age of Empires (one) . .  but I will most probably check out CIV V

A good strategy game without building, Warcraft III.

A good strategy game with building, Age of Empires 2/3.

For Civ V I would HIGHLY recommend the expansion Brave New World, it makes all the difference.
