Hello,

So recently I have encountered a problem when attempting to install programs such as NiceHash Miner,StreamLabels and most likely more to come in the future unless I find a way to fix it.

So upon running the exe setup I get thrown this error(On both installations of Nicehash and streamlabels) https://gyazo.com/0adbcdff487371e9a130125ef9250b36 I am not sure on a fix of this and I am wondering if anyone here would be able to help me with this as I have no idea how to fix this.

TIA

What logs and events should I be looking under?

First open Event Viewer on your computer.

You will then want to choose Windows Logs>Application from the left side of the screen.

Give it a moment to load, then over on the right side of the screen, click "Filter Current Log..." and tick the box for "Error".

You should get a screen that looks similar to my screenshot. Sort the log entries by date, then find the error that corresponds with the time that your application failed to open the file.

Thank you for your help although I have tried this I can not seem to find a single error corresponding to the time that I started the exe up.

Try checking some of the other log stores - i.e., System, etc. Event Viewer is an investigative tool, sometimes it takes a bit of digging to find what you're looking for.

You can also try filtering by more options, i.e., Warning, Critical, etc.

I cant see the file at all and I've checked view hidden items. https://gyazo.com/87a987ad04a12f208309a5d8900be5cf

Then is the file even there. If you are sure it is and just can't see even with hidden files viewable you can use the command line or system user to find it. Also try manually typing the directory into the address bar of your file manager

are you running this installer as admin(is needed to write to that folder)

the installer tries to write here to see if it will be able to do write in a protected zone

if it fails here no reason installer should continue as it will fail

I've made sure to run it as admin. The same error is thrown.

I tried to manually search in the address bar and it says windows can not find the file.8eadc99c5031af3ce2b1e4a1e9b7d38a.png
