PROJECTOR HELP

peebis

Hey guys,

You have been there for me in the past. Now I need support once again. I have a white fence around my yard and my son wants a projecter screen on the fence for his birthday. Which is way cheaper I think than spending $$$ at a activity place. I'm on a budget about 150 or so. I have an apple tv and a ps3 in case I need to stream or buy a DVD. Not sure how a projector works with sound etc. So please any tips and tricks and models of projectors etc. Thank you in advanced.

A projector for 150 that is bright enough to be used outside?  Even drive-in movie theaters wait until the sun has gone down far enough.

So you don't own an projector or so?

Soudwise projector often have integrated Speakers with 5 or 10 watts but they suck. You then would need to output the sound to an PA System or so.

But another factor is daylight. If you want to use the projector outside (at least when it's not night/dark) you are pretty doomed with an consumer device. You would need something with 10000+ ANSI Lumens. Such pro projectors cost several thousand dollars so you could maybe rent one but that would be over your budget I think. You can hire such an projector at the company where I am working at but this costs 400€-isch a day or so...

Either move the projector inside or placing an matte screen outside (what also won't be that good in terms of reflection and viewability) would be the best solution.

Hope this gave you some insight. Feel free to ask if you have other questions ;)
