i7 2600k

i currently have my i7 2600k at 4.5ghz on 1.365v, which from my research is a little high for that overclock, but just doesnt seem stable any lower. if i push to 4.7ghz at 1.4v, it crashes, and if i let it auto ot shoots up to 1.6v!!!

i have the gigabyte ga-z77x-ud3h motherboard, running the latest bios f20e from 2014, reusing the board from when i had the i5 3570k.

any tips or help would be appreciated.

if it runs its fine, i run my i5 4690k @4,7ghz with 1,32V too

Every CPU is different and it will OC differently. My 3770K will do 4.5 GHz at 1.250V, but it needs 1.365-1.370 for 4.7 GHz.

Like @G27Racer_188 said, each CPU is different and can OC to different levels at different voltages. Even if its the same type of CPU (like comparing 2 or more 2600k's) silicon lottery can either give you a good chip or a bad chip. At the voltage your running, as long as your temps are in check you shouldnt have to worry about it. Are you trying to push it further for a specific reason? or are you fine sticking with the 4.5 and was just wondering if it was too much voltage? also how are your temps under full stress with your OC?

I am ok with 4.5ghz and under stress it hits 68 degrees on all cores. But would love to push higher just for benchmarking purposes as opposed to 24/7 use
