Hello, everyone, I'm  planning a build and I just want some feedback on how things are with my build. ex. bottlenecks, overkill, that might not fit, etc.

This is my first time building something of this magnitude and price range, so I want to be sure that I have all my chickens in a row on this.

Budget  of 1300 USD MAX 1400 USD

MINIMAL RGB

Play games like GTA V

Some but not a lot of video editing (not the main focus)

be reasonably quiet (it doesn't have to be Ninja silent)

I don't think I'm willing to go lower than the 1070 for GPU

<("."<)

Here is what I have picked out.

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8600K 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair - H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock - Z370 Killer SLI/ac ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston - FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Storage: Western Digital - Green 240GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Zotac - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Mini Video Card
Case: Cooler Master - MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA - B3 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit

Bad liquid cooler, really slow RAM (yes, it does affect performance noticeably), bad SSD, and fire hazard PSU.

Looks very decent, overall. For games, an 8400 or Ryzen 1600 with a GTX 1080 (or 1070 Ti) will perform better.

Can we get the link to the PCPP list you've made? I'm assuming you actually live in the US, and aren't just converting your local currency?

The 8400 will perform pretty much identically to the 8600K in games, but costs $80 less.

Do you really need WiFi? If not, getting a cheaper motherboard is an option.

If you want, you can step the GPU up to the 1080, for $100 more, for ~5% better performance.

Getting a better case will make for a more enjoyable building experience, as well as being quieter, and nicer to look at (though that's personal preference).

You can get Windows from Kinguin or Reddit for ~$25.

And how might that PSU be a fire hazard, Its evga not some generic unrated piece of junk.

And why might someone need a H5 for a non overclockable CPU

Both of Tomshardware's review samples had faulty/misconfigured OPP, leading to them going kaboom. Couple that with sketchy soldering, and it's a fire hazard. EVGA has plenty of really bad PSUs, as do most companies. Also note that EVGA got caught sent Jonnyguru cherry picked samples of both the B3 and B1.

It's really quiet, the budget allowed for it, and the CPU cooler can be reused after an upgrade, irrelevant of whether or not he changes platform.

Only the PSU strikes me as overkill, the rest is okay. 500W max. IMO. Even with some OCing.

CPU R7 3800X    Motherboard Asus Prime X370 Pro  RAM  24GB Corsair LPX 3000 (at 2933Mhz)    GPU EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 SC  Case Phanteks Enthoo Pro M

Storage 1 x 1TB m.2 (Windows), 1x 500GB SSD (Linux Mint), 1x 4TB SSD (for data Samsung 870) PSU Corsair RM1000  Cooling deepcool ak620(? probably)

Synology NAS 2 x 8TB

WIFI is a bit of a need as I don't want to run cables through my walls due to it being an older house and afraid of what I might find/ destroy, I don't want cables just laying around the floor with a 1 yo toddling about.

How well do USB WI-FI solutions work are they up to par?

Would it really hurt? :)

Would a Homeplug solution work? It uses the electrical cables to send the internet signal. More stable and reliable than WiFi, not quite as good as ethernet. You may want to look that up.
