Keyboard and mouse input stuck

My friend is experiencing a very strange problem with his machine. Basically, his keyboard and mouse gets stuck but the game still goes on, 3 beeps occur and then inputs return. The video link below has it documented

Don't know what it would be, my first guess would be the wire or bad contact in the port, but honestly I have no idea.

Has he tried reinstalling the USB drivers for his system? There is also a problem with some Logitech mice that does this, that's hardware related and they'll usually send you a replacement if you contact them.

He is using a Zowie FK1 mouse so no it's not Logitech and he has already installed the USB drivers
