Minimalism?

minervx

For my next build, I'd like to make a computer that's small form factor, low noise and involving as little cabling as possible while still being able to game well at 1440p.

Current ideas:

  • Node 304 (White)?  Anything smaller?
  • Ryzen processor
  • GTX 1070 or 1080?  will they fit?
  • mini itx w/ wifi, usb-c, overclock
  • large capacity M2 SSD (no HDD)
  • quiet cooler that fits?  Pure Rock Slim?
  • pure wings 2 fans, of course
  • Modular.  600w?  ATX or SFX?  Fanless?  ???
  •

PC Build: R5-1600.  Scythe Mugen 5.  GTX 1060.  120 GB SSD.  1 TB HDD.  FDD Mini C.  8 GB RAM (3000 MHz).  Be Quiet Pure Wings 2.  Capstone-550.  Deepcool 350 RGB.

Peripherals: Qisan Magicforce (80%) w/ Gateron Blues.  Razer Naga Chroma.  Lenovo 24" 1440p IPS.  PS4 Controller.

Audio: Focusrite (Solo, 2nd), SM57, Triton Fethead, AKG c214, Sennheiser HD598's, ATH-M50x, AKG K240, Novation Launchkey

Wishlist: MP S-87, iPad, Yamaha HS5's, more storage

The 1070 mini(Can't remember the manufacture rn) will work for sure, I think the zotac 1080 is kinda long to fit in the 304. You can probably make it work with and sfx psu or a pretty short atx one. Also I'd go with a noctua NH-L12S as long as you dont care about the questionable color scheme.

They wanted AMD Ryzen, not Intel. Also, never go with 2x8GB DDR4 on mITX, always go 1x16GB so it can be upgraded later on.

the node cases dont reveal the insides.

while 1080 is possible, is it good for thermals?

It shouldn't be too bad while gaming, I mean it's certainly going to get loud while furmark but should you really care?
