I was reading an article, all of a sudden my pc shuts down immediately, like it turns into a black screen right away. It turned itself back on for about 5 seconds before powering off again. I pressed the power button again and this time nothing happens. I opened the case, took the battery out and then unplugged the power cord. I waited about 5 mins, placed battery back in again, plugged back in the power cord. I pressed the power button once again. This time my CPU lightly spinned for about a second maybe even less. The wire connected to the power button created a lightning spark. But nothing happens, the computer still won’t power on. I also tried removing 1 ram while leaving the other one in. Nothing happens except th CPU did a light spin. Please help.

Thank you

hrm,  sounds like mobo /psu   --  but I think you should remove all the parts one at a time and test.  The only time something like that happened to me is when my brother flipped the EU / US wattage power switch thingy on the back of the PSU.  pee'd me off pretty bad lol

I keep posting about Ram issues today...  Not long and people will start calling me "That Ram Guy"

Test a cheap stick of Ram if you can get something or borrow a stick off a friend for testing purposes.

Also just for the sake of completion - Why not replace the lead for the PSU, move the MB power to another slot on the PSU and let me know the results. Could be as simple as a fuse problem but then again, I've been wrong and optimistic before.
