Hi everyone,

I'm helping a friend upgrading his macbook pro (i5, early 2011). He has problems with his boot time, slow responses and has a loading icon most of the time.
I was thinking about upgrading his RAM from 4gb to 8gb. His usage is on 3,4 standard and will load up to max most of the time.

I was also thinking about upgrading his 340gb 5400RPM hdd to a samsung 840/850 ssd.

Will this fix his problems?

What is the best way of copying his HDD data to the ssd?

Thanks!

My own build: RΛZΞR theme

CPU: Intel Core i5 7600K // CPU cooler: Cryorig H7 // Motherboard: MSI Z270 gaming pro carbon //

Video Card: MSI Armor gtx 1070 OC 8GB // RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200MHz //

SSD: Samsung EVO 960 500GB // HDD: 2x WD yellow edition 2TB //

Case: NZXT H440 RAZER edition // Power Supply: Corsair RM550x //

Operating Software: Windows 10 pro 64-bit

It will definable help. the best way is to take the data from the internal drive and export it to an external drive, then to move it back to the ssd.
