BT internet problem

Im not sure if this is in the wrong section. So I apologise if it is. So basically had bt internet for a few years trouble free and for the last 3-4 weeks my internet hub box has went from blue light to orange around 5-6 times a day. I have no idea what could be wrong and making it go off for a few mins each time. Tried calling bt but git nowhere so just wanted to ask could it maybe be the actual bt hub box ? I was thinking about buying a new none bt box and if that dont work i think ill just switch to virgin fibre since that is now in my area.
