Hi guys,

a friend of mine wants to change his pc and he would like to play games on it. The budget is 800$, but he needs to get everything with that money (monitor, keyboard ...)

I need your help to find something good

My idea at the moment is something like:

Ryzen 5 1500/1500x                                                                                 i5 6500 (but with which cooler? Cheap air cooler?)

MSI B350M PRO VDH                                                                               Gigabyte LGA1151 Micro ATX DDR4

16GB DDR4, the most budget sticks

MSI GTX 1060 6GB

Possibly not an HDD, but I understand that the budget isn't so high

NZXT S340 case (maybe not a good choice) or cheaper

PSU? How many watts?

Some Asus 1080p monitor

And 30/40 bucks for a decent keyboard

There is one problem in all this: wifi, do you guys know any good cheap motherboard with wifi?

Any advice? Blue team or red team?

you can get a pci-e wifi adaptor instead of getting a mobo with onboard wifi. look for gigabyte's GC-WB867D-i, costs around $30.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

If you on a budget go with standard cooler, it will hold for some time. As for storage. I would buy an ssd, becasue loading times are super fast and stuf, and you can buy cheap 320GB hdd for games and stuff. If on a budget 64GB SSD and 320GB HDD are okey option. Power supply, go wtih something around 460W, more or less. And i think that's what i wanted to say

Quote me so I can reply <3

One last tip, compare both 1060 3gb, 6gb, 480 and 580 4gb and 8gb to see which is cheaper, and then use that GPU.

You don't want to skimp on the RAM with Ryzen.  There is only a 5-10% difference in performance with the 3GB model of the 1060, but it was $60 cheaper, so I went with that instead.  You can get Windows key from Kinguin pretty cheap, and honestly I'd say just buy a $5 keyboard from Amazon or something.  Unless you're obsessed with clacking, I don't see any point in a mechanical keyboard.

@herman mcpootis that's a good build.  The lack of an SSD is going to hurt performance a lot though.  Maybe downgrade to a 1060 3GB instead. You also only have half the RAM there, although I think 8GB is plenty.

ssd doesn't do anything to improve performance, just boot times. he can add it in when he has the budget.

It absolutely improves performance.  Whoever told you otherwise doesn't know anything about computers.  If you're running Windows on a hard drive, disk usage is often at 100%.  I've done plenty of cloning in my business, and the difference in everything is immediately noticeable.

Well even in web browsing there is a difference.  I assume he'll be doing stuff besides playing games.
