Looking at the manual i see that when u plug in an M2 PCIE (not SATA) a whole lot of SATA ports get disabled.

If i am reading it correct. Using a NVME in slot M2D will cause sata 3-0 to 3-3 to be disabled leaving only 3-4 and 3-5

I suggest using the M2A slot since that will leave everything working (the one between the PCIEx16 slots)

On my MB when I have an NVME M.2 connected my last two SATA ports don't work because the NVME M.2 SSD is using them.

Try moving your HDD to another SATA port on the MB.

Also when installing the OS unplug all drives except the OS drive.

@wONKEyeYEs Thats just for the M2D slot. The M2A slot allows all SATA prots to be used

@Ranz Switch the NVME SSD to the M2A slot and your problems will be gone. and yes a NVME will use the PCIE instead of SATA controller.

Thanks! i've switch the nvme to the lower slot.
but is there a disadvantage using this slot?

Looking at the schematic the M2D slot would put you at a disadvantage since it will only run PCIE x2 and the M2A slot will have full use of the PCIE x4 bandwith. Plus almost no SATA when u use the M2D slot :S

In short; using the M2A is the preferred slot for your NVME anyway :D

i mean is there a noticeable performance lost using m2a? i just run a crystal disk mark and it seems to run the same with the benchmark on the internet so thats why i'm wondering what would be the disadvantage? sorry. I'm looking for disadvantage in real world perf.

Like i said, M2A is a PCIE x4 slot compared to the M2D PCIE x2 slot. So in theory it can be faster.

You are supposed to use the M2A slot first and the M2D for a 2nd drive.

Tldr: There is no disadvantage in using the M2A slot over the M2D slot. Only advantages :D
