D drive dying

well my D:/ dive is dying and it has my music pic docs and apparently some system files on it i have a new 3tb drive in labeled E:/ i tried to move pics and such over copy and paste style and making new folders but the directories still point to D:/ if i take D:/ out will it re tag my E:/ drive as D:/ or really screw this up

Are you talking about the folders in your Quick Access menu?

As shown above if you want to change the default location of "Documents' right click on it go to properties then "location" and finally "Move" point the folder at your new directory.

You can change the drive letter assigned to your drive in "Disk Management" but i don't really see a massive necessity to do it if stuff is already pointing at it.
