Loved Joe Madureira's comic and was not happy when it was cut short back in...omg...late 90s early 2k? (15+ years ago, I might have to kill myself)

I almost want to buy this game just for nostalgia's sake, and for that reason am looking for some impartial and dispassionate input.  Possibly even from one here who both owns/played the game, but had not previously read the comic.  

From what little I've seen of the mechanics, it screams flash game like game play.  Which isn't necessarily a bad thing; but experience tends to lean toward it not being the hottest thing.

 

I am going to re-read the comic now regardless, as I haven't in ages but would really appreciate others take on the game.
