Yeah maybe thats my bad for not being totally clear, but since i was talking about the g430 i ment VIRTUAL 7.1 sorround sound which is a feature that in my personal experience improves a lot the gameplay when it comes to shooters but yeah thanks anyways

thing is: that virtual stuff can be enabled on any stereo headset because it is a software thing and does not even know wich headset it is running.

So my old logitech g430 just broke and im looking for a new headset for around 100$, i saw the new cloud alpha from Hyperx and they look pretty lit, tho since im a fps player i use 7.1 sorround sound a lot and it worries me that the cloud alpha do not come whit 7.1. I've seen videos where the usb sound card that comes with the g430 is used to enable virtual 7.1 sorround sound through logitech software in other headsets but i never tested myself, is this posible? is it compatible with the cloud alpha? or what other options do I have for around 100dlls?

ok, guess what? your G430 did not have surround sound either - you never had 7.1 on that headset

look at the connectors

all i see is a microphone jack and a STEREO headphone jack.

99.9% of all the "surround sound" headsets are crappy stereo headphones with some fancy "virtual surround" thing going on in the driver to make you think it is surround.

true surround headsets need more than two drivers, thus a thick cable with a lot of connectors on the end so each driver can have its own signal.

if a headset does not have that - it is not surround.

even if the headset or headphones have all the drivers, then they are low quality, a bit out of sync and way too close to your head to actually give you surround sound, I won't sound anything like surround sound with speakers.

OP get a set of headphones with a large soundstage, a good soundstage always beats virtual surround sound and then you can add a mic. You could give the pinned post a look in the budget range that fits your budget and then read a bit about each headphone
