sli vs crossfire

from what  understand crossfire only works with an amd gpu and sli onli works with an  nvidia gpu can someone confirm this

also do i need an amd cpu to use crossfire? I dont think so but i just want to be 100% sure

Sli only works with nvidia, crossfire only with amd also they need to be the same card, and no an intel cpu will work with both

Yep, they are general terms defining the use of multiple cards at once, by different manufacturers of the graphics card tech.
