Flat mount GPU

I am planning to build a PC in a desk like the one Linus currently has in his office and I would like to flat mount my GPU so that the fans face upwards and I can see the face of the GPU while looking down into my desk. I will be using a PCIe extension cable to do this, but what I'm not sure of is how to mount the GPU up off of wooden desk without voiding the warranty by disassembling the card, drilling holes in the rear shroud, and screwing it to some stand-offs. If anyone has any great ideas that don't include buying a 3D-printer and learning how to use CAD, I would be thankful. The GPU is an ASUS Strix RX-480.

I used Lego for a testbench. Maybe you could try that?

That's actually super creative. Maybe if I could find all black LEGO I could make it work without it looking horrible.

That would be brilliant. Maybe you could do a Lego themed desk PC...
