macbook pro vs alienware

Go to solution Solved by Kobathor,

OF COURSE the R15 with the 1060 is faster. It will be much faster in gaming since that's what it was made to do. If your purpose is to play games then there is no question.

The Macbook will have a nicer screen, better battery life, the fancy touch bar, the better touchpad, and better construction (debatable).

If you're getting a super nice laptop for school, I'd recommend a cheaper Macbook. If you're gonna game, the Alienware is a better buy.

EDIT - If you like Windows, don't get the Macbook and put Windows on it. They suck at that. Instead, I'd get something like the Dell XPS 15.

Like the others said, what's the use case? In terms of raw specs, the alienware is better. In terms of creative software, I'd say the rMBP wins.

So if you're making stuff/light gaming --> MacBook Pro

Gaming a lot/making stuff --> Alienware.
