  1. So i have a 250g samsung evo 850 ssd and out of the 250 there is 232GB usable. out of that 232GB i only have 65Gb free. 1-2 weeks ago i had atleast 100Gb free and everyday its been slowly declining without me downloading anything. sure ive installed a few programs here and there but nothing near 40Gb and even then when i highlight all the folders under my C drive and click on properties, it shows that they are 97Gb which means that out of the 232 GB i should have ~135Gb instead of 65GB. I've tried doing disk cleanup and defragmentation but i dont know what else to do. chrome_2017-09-30_23-32-37.png.c20f097fc03e8c7938e749500672696a.pngchrome_2017-09-30_23-33-47.png.305a94946b749c76a50610ed71bc0fbc.png

Are there hidden folders on the drive? View > Show hidden files

What version of Windows do you have (build number)? If not sure, type winver into cortana/search and press enter. If you have an older build, it might've downloaded a newer build and uncompressed it in the background, this would be a hidden folder on your C drive, about 30GB.

You might also have a Windows.old folder, which is a previous version of windows (kept so you can revert it to it easily). Also up to 30GB.

Disk cleanup would allow you to remove both of these, although only if you chose Clean up system files.

Also, look in Windows Settings > System > Storage > Local Disk C:

It will show you an overview of all files on the drive. the Other category will show the largest files and folders existing on the drive. That should help you figure out what it is.
