R2 Midi Cooling

I've put together a build using the R2 Midi and have to buy fans but no idea which ones and no idea what config works best.

 

Also important to note that I have an H100i mounted to the top still using stock fans that I also need to replace but no idea which ones.

 

Does anyone with experience or knowledge about this case know which fans and config to use? Is the top the best choice for mounting the radiator or should it be mounted to the front intake? Should the fans on the radiator be in a push config or pull config? 

 

I'm willing to pay a premium for the fans if they perform good and most importantly are quiet.

Yes top is good for radiator, use 2 NF-F14s for the intake in the front and 1 NF-F14 in the back as intake, 2 NF-F12s for the radiator as an exhaust

Use the back fan as intake as well? Does the radiator provide enough exhaust for the whole case?

Yes. More positive is better than negative anyway. As an extra benefit that should provide a little bit more flow around VRM.

Dont think the F14 is a thing. I think he meant P14. Although I could be wrong.

I'd suggest moving the rear 120mm fan to the front and leaving the rear fan position open.

 

For the H100i, if the stock fans are too noisy 120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM are often recommended. If you want less noise Noctua suggests the NF-P12 which is quieter but less efficient. Of course you have to be able to stand the color scheme of these fans to use them.

 

Use Noctua NF-S12A fans if you want quieter case fans. Again, if you can stomach the colors.

NF-S12A.

 

The NF-P14 is a discontinued product. The NF-A14 are designed for high static pressure applications.
