Now before you go and say it: No, the CMOS battery isn't dead.

I have an old LGA771 server board that I use as my main server machine for whatever I need. The board itself is a Tyan Tempest i5100W S5376G2NR. It has dual Xeon x5460s, 24 gigs of ddr2 rdimms, all powered by a 650w PSU. Whenever I change and save any settings in the BIOS, the computer goes ahead and reboots like normal. However, when I go back in, all of the settings are where they were before, with the exception of the date and time. This is very troubling as I want to enable quick boot so it doesn't check all 24 gigs of my RAM every time I boot. I cleared the CMOS and went back into the BIOS, and the date and time reset. I set them, changed some other settings, saved and exited. Upon reboot, the same story as above. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Same thing.

the only thing the issue really refers to is the cmos battery, the bios chip itself or the ram isnt actually compatible so it keeps re cycling the settings ( to be able to boot ) :S
