BASEQI, Nifty are some of the companies that provide minidrive storage expansion for mac pro and mac products, i need to know if it will work for laptops like asus G501vw(i have this laptop and its running out of space) and some more ultrabooks like dell xps etc.. where there is no option of adding extra drive internally! and will this storage be useful to install and boot a secondary os like ubuntu?

It's a Micro SD card to SD card dongle specifically made for the macbook. (and a extraordinarily expensive on at that)

If you have a SD card slot just plug in an SD card

here is the deal.. i have a asus g501vw with an internal m.2 ssd single slot and no other drive ports, no disk drive no hdd.. nothing, so i need to expand the storage somehow without replacing my existing 512 GB ssd, so this option of minidrive is pretty sleek since it doesnt have a projecting out of the laptop design, it finishes very smoothly with the laptop curves.. but i need a solid proof of it working on laptops other than macbook pro, there are also companies like transcend providing this in the form of jetdrive where the storage is limited.. and they also say its for macbook's .. so again no proof of working in normal laptops..
